Offshore I2P Router Hosting
I2P routers need constant uptime and clean IPs. Our anonymous VPS in privacy-friendly jurisdictions provide both — plus the signup-level anonymity I2P itself deserves.
Key requirements
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Low-cost (most routers run indefinitely)
- Stable uplink
- Full root for router config
- Anonymous signup (operator privacy)
Router, floodfill, or eepsite
A standard I2P router participates in the network by relaying others' traffic. A floodfill router additionally stores the network database and is more resource-intensive. An eepsite is an I2P-only website (like a Tor onion service). VPS-S is fine for routers; floodfills and busy eepsites benefit from VPS-M.
I2P vs Tor — why both matter
I2P is optimized for internal network services (eepsites, chat, torrents inside I2P). Tor is optimized for accessing the clearnet anonymously. Running both routers diversifies your privacy infrastructure.
Bandwidth contribution
I2P routers consume 100 KB/s to 10 MB/s depending on their bandwidth share setting. Unlimited bandwidth on our VPS means you can set a generous contribution without worrying about overages.

I2P Hosting — FAQ
01 Is I2P legal where you host?
Yes in all our recommended jurisdictions. I2P is an overlay protocol; running a node is equivalent to running a web server.
02 Will you take down my I2P router on complaint?
Complaints against anonymous overlay networks are almost never actionable. We do not act without a valid local court order.
03 Can I run a bittorrent tracker in I2P?
Yes. Since I2P traffic is internal to the network, the usual DMCA/torrent concerns do not apply.
04 Does I2P need a public IPv4?
Reachable routers need a public IP (which our VPS all have). Behind-NAT routers contribute less and can't be floodfills.
05 What I2P implementation should I use?
i2pd (C++) is lighter weight than the Java reference router; we recommend i2pd for VPS deployment.
